Multidimensional regression models

The subject of this diploma thesis is the use of knowledge of multidimensional regression models in practice. The first part describes the theoretical basis for regression analysis. Then further we focus on modeling theory and nonlinear multidimensional models. The next part describes a real problem. This is the width of kerf of titanium alloy using wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM). We apply most of the theoretical knowledge to this problem, and we use regression analysis using Minitab software. We will analyze the data from different perspectives and create several multidimensional regression models. In the last part we summarize the results obtained by the regression analysis.

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the topic of unemployment in the Polish labour market. The aim is to identify factors that influence the unemployment rate and the long-term unemployment rate in Poland. The choice of variables used in the empirical part is consistent with the economic theory. The empirical part is based on multivariate regression analysis, and both models are created to describe the relationship between dependent variables and regressors. In the first model, the statistically significant variables are ALMPs and PLMPs expenditures, GDP growth and EPL index, and in the second model, the statistically significant variables are minimum wage, ALMPs expenditures and GDP growth. In the empirical part, regional disparities of the unemployment rate in the labour force market in Poland are described.

Drábková, N. Education in EU countries. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. The bachelor's thesis deals with the existence of a relationship between the share of the tertiary educated population and the economic level of the country in selected EU states. In the theoretical part, tertiary education and its impact on the labour market are discussed, as well as academic failure and lifelong learning, and finally, the implementation of the Europe 2020 Strategy and the expansion of Industry 4.0. In the analytical part, the educational structure of representative countries, which were selected on the basis of cluster analysis, is compared. Within the indicator of the university students, elementary characteristics were used to describe the development of the time series of Latvia, Luxembourg, Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic. Finally, a multiple regression was constructed for Germany and Spain. Regression analysis showed that the share of university graduates affects economic performance in Germany. In the other hand, in Spain was no correlation between the given indicators. At the same time, the influence of the unemployment rate on the GDP per inhabitant was proven in this country. At the end of the thesis, it is recommended to politicians to motivate students to study STEM fields, which have a significant impact on economic performance.

The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the level of influence of destination quality factors on the loyalty of visitors in the mountain regions of Liptov and Tatras. In addition, the work examines the satisfaction of visitors with quality factors in the summer and winter seasons. These are then compared with the importance of the same factors. Marketing research was used to obtain primary data using a questionnaire survey. The data were then evaluated using IPA analysis and multiple regression analysis.

This bachelor thesis is dealing with problems of unemployment and identification of main and side factors which affect the unemployment in Zlín Region. Negative economic and demographic factors of unemployment presented in this thesis are based on the literature. These factors are identified by studies, articles and situation analysis. The econometric methods are described in the Methods chapter. These methods were used in constructing of multidimensional regressive model and in analysis of time series for the unemployment prediction. Conclusions are summarized and compared with results of professional articles, studies and literature.

Přímé zahraniční investice v zemích Visegrádské skupiny

This diploma thesis discusses the analysis of factors influencing foreign direct investment in Visegrad countries. The first part of the thesis defines the basic concepts, their brief characteristics and their distribution in the area of foreign direct investment. Another part of the thesis deals with the qualitative analysis of the investment environment in the Visegrad Group countries followed by a qualitative analysis of selected factors influencing foreign direct investment in Visegrad countries. The last part of this diploma thesis is a quantification of selected factors by multidimensional regression analysis and a regression analysis of panel data. The results obtained show that the main factors influencing foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic are the labor costs, the level of taxation and quality of the institutional environment. In Slovakia and Poland, the main factors are economic growth, the level of taxation and the quality of the institutional environment. In Hungary, the main determinants are economic growth, labor cost, the level of taxation and the quality of institutions. Within all Visegrad countries, the main factors are economic growth, labor cost, the level of taxation and the quality of the institutional environment.

This diploma thesis deals with the pricing strategy of chosen accounting office. Pricing strategy analysis uses the multidimensional regression model that calculates price based on different services provided to clients related to administration, accounting and payroll. The model is then compared with actual invoiced prices. The thesis also compares the wage level in the company with the median wage of the Czech Republic. In conclusion, pricing strategy for the company, which includes cost and wage levels, and recommendations for a pricing strategy across the entire accounting service industry are proposed.

Vliv fiskální politiky na investiční výdaje firem

This diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of the impact of fiscal policy on the business investment spending in the Czech republic, United Kingdom and Germa-ny. The theoretical impact of the fiscal policy on the business investment spending is describe in the first part of the thesis. The next part consist of the analysis of the structure of government revenue and expendture and description of investment environment in chosen countries. In the next part the identification of the factors of business investment spending in chosen countries is quantified using a multidimensional regression analysis. The results show that main determinants of investment behaviour in the Czech republic are government revenues from direct and indirect taxes, government revenue from social contributions and corporate tax rate. The main determinants in United Kingdom are government revenues from direct and indirect taxes and government debt. The main determinants in Germany are government investment expenditure, government expenditure on the social benefits, government debt and labour costs.

The diploma thesis is solving a business environment and an influence of factors on the number of enterprises in countries in the EU. There is characterized business environment and some of the indicators representing its quality in theoretical part. There is created one main model which is solving the influence of factors on numbers of companies on an inhabitant in practical part. This model is based on a multidimensional regression analysis and there is used a method of ordinary least squares (method OLS). There are also formulated partial models according to a legal form, numbers of employees and newly created companies. The statistical data, which are related to companies and are used in diploma thesis, are chosen for a year 2014. The main objective is to determine which of chosen factors have an influence on the number of companies in member countries of the EU. The results are compared with the business environment quality indicators.

Dopady vývoje hlavních makroekonomických ukazatelů na exportní výkonnost české ekonomiky

Bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the influence of the selected macroeco-nomic indicators on the Czech export into Germany, the European Union and the Euro Zone. It focuses on the changes of the GDP, CPI, real effective exchange rate, interest rate and unemployment rate. The first part of the thesis focuses on the main terms of the foreign trade and shows the development of the foreign trade in Czech Republic. There are also theoretical concepts of econometrics methods which are used in the practical part of the thesis. The second part contains the regression analysis of time series with quarterly pe-riod between years 2000-2019. The multiple regression analysis is used, and con-structed models are estimated by the OLS method. The results of the analysis con-firm the influence of first differences of the GDP, CPI and real effective exchange rate on the Czech export into selected regions.
